Provide Hair Reduction Treatments Using Electrical Currents
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use electrolysis to remove unwanted hair from the face and body.
It requires the ability to establish priorities with clients, synthesise knowledge of skin and hair biology and electrical current, and to design and provide effective hair removal treatments. Treatment outcomes are usually achieved over a program that involves multiple individual treatments.
SHBBSKS002 Provide Diathermy Treatments
This unit describes the performance outcome, skills and knowledge required to plan and safely use electric current to treat dilated capillaries.
It requires the ability to establish priorities with clients, synthesise knowledge of skin biology and electrical currents to design and provide treatments to reduce the appearance of dilated capillary blood vessels on the face and upper chest. The diathermy treatment can be an individual service or form part of a series of services.
To gain competency you may be required to submit case studies, log books and practical and written assessments.
You will learn

- Review treatment and provide post treatment advice
- Clean treatment area
12 weeks, 300 hours
2 days Thursdays & Fridays 9.30am-2.30pm
1 day distance learning off campus
1 day work place training in a salon
1 day assessment at the end of 9 weeks
